I've been trying to find anyone that has had a positive effect with Neuromonics online. All I can find is reviews, adverts for clinics offering it and this blog and related site about your unfortunately experience.

I have just 2 days left for my trial period and have no effect whatsoever. Except that the music is quite depressing not to mention monotonous. With just 4 tracks, how do they expect you to listen 2-4 hrs a day for 6-8 months. My goodness this is torture. But then so is my tinnitus so I guess it's the lessor of 2 evils. Their music choices sure suck too.

Here are my concerns. Since the treatment is 6-8 months the idea of a 30 trial is absurd, unless of course you have a bad experience like you did. But as to the efficacy, there's no way, so your in for a dime, in for a dollar.

And for those that do experience improvement, how do you know that it isn't the person accommodating to their tinnitus, AKA getting used to it and the emotional aspects calming down as you just learn to live with it.

Also, I compared the stats of the device against an Apple iPod and it pales in comparison to it. I mean pales. iPod: Frequency response: 20Hz to 20,000Hz. Oasis: Frequency range: 100Hz-12.5KHz.

The "high end" earphones are really great, albeit not conspicuous, but you can buy them anywhere for around $65 online.

So why is Oasis so expensive? You get 4 sessions with the audiologist and pay for the first one, at least I did $333. So at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles, it will cost you shy of $6000 with no guarantee.

It will be worth it if it works. But I can't find any positive testimonials to substantiate a favorable outcome. Have you?

Thank you for your post: And no, that's one of the serious major problems with the Oasis--who has it helped, other than taking money from people who are suffering miserbly?

Thank you for this Website!
I was going to call Neuromonics and NOW, there is No Way I will! How can the FDA approve this?!
How is it they can ethically do this and HOW can we rectify this?
It seems that all these websites that, say they can cure Tinnitus pray on Suffers like us! I have tried all kinds of things and none of these have any proof of working.
Thank you again for this blog!

I have just had the tests with an audioligist in sydney yesterday and am deciding whether to go ahead with treatment. My plan today was to see if I can find any positive feedback. None so far. And the main question - why is the Oasis so expensive. CK

It sucks that the treatment exacerbated your tinnitus! I hadn't heard of that happening before. FYI, the tracks are designed to be boring. The Neuromonics device is designed to trick your brain into ignoring the tinnitus so they use music that is not very entertaining because you aren't supposed to focus on it.

Its expensive because you are paying for the research and development that went into the device.

I've been doing Neuromincs for 3 months and I feel worse. My Tinnitus is worse and my Hyperacusis is worse. I got the device from the Colorado Tinnitus & Hyperacusis center and of course they showed me all these case histories of people who've gotten better but of course they did not show me the ones who got no help from this! I think the only people this is helping is Neuromonics! They are laughing all the way to the bank at $5,500 a pop. I'm having my hearing tested soon and if the LDL levels are lowering, I'm demanding all my $$$$ back, I don't care that the 30trial is up. If worse comes to worse, I'll threaten them with a class action law suit. If anyone out there has had their hearing damaged from Neuromonics, we should get together and put a lawsuit into action. Neuromincs should not be taking our money and damaging what little hearing we have left and getting away with it!!
